About

About me

While I didn't realize it at the time, spending time with my grandfather each afternoon during elementary school has instilled a passion for creativity and metalworking in me. My grandpa Ralph owned a small welding and machine shop on the outskirts of a rural town in Northcentral Wisconsin. I was too young to have done any projects with him in the shop, but I do remember being enthralled with the equipment, the smell, and the treasures in that shop.

I started my career in metalworking in 1999 working for a local fabrication shop manufacturing gates and other livestock handling equipment. For the next 20 years I worked at a couple of different employers and had the opportunity to experience many things. I have fabricated feed, seed, and material handling equipment, small to large structural and miscellaneous steel, and even had the opportunity to work as an ironworker and a millwright installing those items.

The next phase of my career involved moving into the office and doing CAD work designing steel structures and stair/railing systems. After that an opportunity opened up to lead our quality program. During that time I earned my AWS Certified Welding Inspector credentials and lead our AISC quality program.

A couple of short years later I was asked to be the operations manager for that company and enjoyed that for approximately 6 years.

Now I am back to doing CAD work on steel structures and stair/railing systems. This has afforded me the time to work on this venture and I am deeply enjoying it! Thanks for checking out my website and feel free to reach out to discuss your next project!
